  • Kampala Music School began after Fiona Carr heard choristers trying to play an old piano in Namirembe Cathedral
  • Founders and former pupils: Fiona Carr set up free music lessons and arranged pianos to be donated from the UK to Uganda
  • Both former pupils now work at the school, Fred is director and Francis (pictured far right) is head of voice studies
  • Choirboys from Namirembe Cathedral take their only chance to play the old, but loved piano
  • The school benefits bursary students like Shafic who has reached Grade eight piano in just four years
  • Going to the school leads to great things: The classically trained singers of Sauti Ya Africa all met at Kampala Music School
